Haverford Hosting Recycling Event

Four Delco municipalities are coming together to help recycle your junk.

 

Haverford township wants you to get rid of your TV, but in an environmentally friendly way.

The Haverford, in conjunction with Marple, Edgemont and Newtown township, is hosting a recycling day at Old Marple School at West Chester Pike and Malin Road on Saturday, October 6.

The event is free and open to all residents in the area and will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The following items will be accepted at the event:

  • TV's
  • computers
  • laptops
  • small appliances
  • microwaves
  • cameras
  • cell phone
  • air-conditioners
  • calculators
  • typewriters
  • telephones
  • fax machines
  • monitors
  • keyboards
  • computer mice
  • dehumidifiers

To have scheduled this on the same day as Haverford Township Day does not seem like a good idea, logistically. I hope you schedule these recycling events often.

I agree with Mike. This event was badly timed. Living just off Darby Road, I'm not sure I could have made it to the recycling location due to the barricades. And we need more of these "electronics" recycling days!

This was posted on the Oct 7th Haverford-Havertown Patch......hope they have another recycling day and we get notified a few days BEFORE the event.......
