On Friday during a press conference, the Blue Ribbon Commission made its recommendation to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to close four high schools and 44 out of 156 elementary schools at the end of the school year in June.

It was confirmed that 44 out of the 156 elementary schools in the Archdiocese will be closing in June. Seven of those 44 schools are in Delaware County, including Annunciation B.V.M. School in Havertown.

A school official of Church of Saint Denis has told the Haverford-Havertown Patch that St. Denis will merge with Annunciation B.V.M. School to become the new John Cardinal Foley Catholic Elementary School next school year.

For those who were unable to watch the press conference on Friday, YouTube user CatholicPhilly uploaded the video.
