Moms lined up more than a half hour before the doors opened for the presale of the Spring Chicken sale Friday morning. A few dads staked a place in line too.
The sale opened to the public at the Armenian Martyrs Church on North Edmonds Avenue in Havertown at noon Friday and will keep its doors open through 8 p.m. Doors open again Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a half price sale from noon to 2 p.m. Volunteers and consignors were treated to a presale Friday morning.
As of 11:30 a.m. Friday, there were still plenty of stroller available outside, as well a very large assortment of Halloween costumes. There were also plenty of tricycles inside and other ride ons. As usual, there was a big assortment of clothes, coats, shoes, books, movies, toys, and baby equipment, including rocking chairs, exercisers, booster seats, etc.
They are also offering food and lemonade as you leave for 25 cents per cup or 50 cents for brownies and other snacks.
The sale is a twice yearly sale that has been operating since its conception in 2007. Last year, they added a holiday toy sale.
The consignment sale is run by two sisters Kathy who live in Delaware County.
Insider tip: Don’t bring a stroller. The space is tight. If you have to bring a baby, use a carrier because navigating a stroller will be hard for you and fellow shoppers.
