$100K Burglary Reported on Ivy Lane

The homeowner told police she left the key in the lock and returned two hours later to find her home burglarized.

A homeowner on the 200 block of Ivy Lane in Haverford lost an estimated $100,000 in jewelry and silverware on November 13, Lower Merion Police are reporting.

According to the report, the woman left the house about 9 a.m. that day and mistakenly left the rear door deadbolt key in the lock.

She returned about 11:20 a.m. to find the windows in the rear door smashed. The alarm system had not been activated.

Haverford Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.

Facts are messed up but a crime and loss was reported. Since Governor Corbett signed welfare ending legislation we have seen more intrusive crimes spilling into our community where even alarmed homes are violated. What will happen when a youth is home during the breakin?
