Haverford Middle School Students Send Letters to Wounded Troops

HAVERTOWN— Sixth Grade students at Haverford Middle School learn to write a friendly letter as part of the Language Arts Curriculum. Teacher, Tina Watson, made the assignment significantly more meaningful by having students write their friendly letters to wounded soldiers at Walter Reed/Bethesda Hospital.

Ms. Watson said, “We wanted our students to be aware of the sacrifices made for our freedom. We hope it will lift the soldiers’ spirits this holiday season.”

In addition to the well written letters, students sent treats and baked goods for the soldiers to receive right in time for the holidays.
