Haverford High School's National Merit Semifinalists

Haverford High School announced that six seniors have been named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists.  The 2012 Semi-finalists are Reed M. Armstrong, Yiting Jiang, Sara K. Nealley, Peter J. Durlacher, Helen F. Wedegaertner, and Soo Jung Rhee.  The seniors will continue in the National Merit Scholarship competition for one of over 8,000 National Merit Scholarships.

There are approximately 16,000 National Merit Semifinalists this year.  These students are the highest-scoring entrants in each state and will compete for scholarships worth more than $34 million.  Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition. They will then be considered for a National Merit Scholarship award.
